Almond Milk

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Cup Almonds
  • 4 Cups Water
  • 1 pinch Salt

Optional Adds-Ins

  • 2-3 Dates pitted for sweetened milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract for vanilla milk
  • 2 tbsp Cocoa Powder for chocolate milk
  • 4 Strawberries for strawberry milk

Instructions
 

  • Soak the almonds overnight in water or in very hot water for 2 hours
  • Drain and rinse the soaked nuts in fresh water.
  • Add the rinsed and drained nuts to your high-powered blender with 4 cups of water and a pinch of salt (if using).  You can also put your add-ins into the blender at this point.  Blend on high speed for 1-2 minutes until it is smooth and creamy.
  • Strain through a nut milk bag, cheesecloth or thin dishcloth.
  • Store milk in fridge and use within 3-4 days.

Notes

Keep the pulp to make crackers, energy bites, muffins, or almond flour.
